As authentic as ‘Queen Midas’, everything the Queen of Pop touches has turned to gold. From gathering tremendous success as a singer and performer, from modeling and trying her luck as an actress, Madonna is not leaving any stone unturned and she catapults herself into the world of design.
Working alongside her 13 year old daughter, Lourdes Ciccone, the singer has christened this exclusive line for Macy stores ‘Material Girl’, just like one of her great musical success stories.
Today, nearly four months after the announcement of her expected clothes range, exclusively targeted to teenage girls, the first looks of the range can be seen and starting from August 3rd can be bought in the US department stores.
The outline of the looks physically emulate a girl very similar to Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, clothing with garments that range from dresses, mini-skirts, cigarette trousers, lots of jewellery and corsets. Tutu-dresses, uniquely patterned skirts and boots are some of the garments that formulate the collection.
It is noted that the clothes line is perhaps a bit too sexy for adolescent girl consumers that they have targeted, those of the same age as the artist’s daughter, 13 years old.
Madonna trusts her daughter’s taste completely and confirms that this collection is simply "an extension of her taste”. “We like to combine tartan print with flannel material and ribbons and leather with bows…we mix different textures, fabrics and elements that are as just masculine as they are feminine”.
