Elie Saab S/S 2011 at Paris Fashion Week |
Burlesque strip artist Dita Von Teese took up a front row seat alongside lingerie designer Chantal Thomass to watch Saab's dramatic drapes, alternating with sharp-tailored knee-length dresses and skirt-jackets in ivory or coral.
Hair was left loose -- a rarity this season -- and silky straight, falling over one eye, with lots of gold in chunky bangles and necklaces, and exquisite little clutch bags.
A small olive jacket with gold featuring was matched with tailored green shorts, paired with dizzyingly-high matching suede heels.
For warmer days, there were translucent geometric patterned fabrics in blue, coral, green and white.
And come evening time, a pleated gown had a fitted bustier with an empire waist, its flowing skirts slit up the thigh, while a feathered effect on a cafe au lait bustier offset gently pleated layers of sweeping organza.
