IHT to host its luxury conference in Sao Paulo

The International Herald Tribune is gathering luxury professionals at Sao Paulo’s Hotel Unique on November 10-11 for its next conference. After discussing the theme of heritage in 2010, organisers decided to name this year’s conference “Hot Luxury”. Suzy Menkes, chair of the luxury conference series since 2001, and guests will be talking about the development of the luxury business in Brazil and also in Latin America. Famous photographer Mario Testino is set to speak at the event.

Other fashion names set to attend the conference are Toby Bateman, buying director for online retailer Mr Porter.com, Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, Carmen Busquets, co-founder of Net-a-Porter, Lew Frankfort, CEO at Coach, Carlos Jereissati, Iguatemi CEO, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and even Gustavo Lins. After going to London, Berlin and Moscow, the IHT will now be making its way to Brazil where the country’s high-end and luxury market is developing.
