French fashion-to-furniture retailer PPR is favourite to acquire cosmetics group Clarins via its YSL Beaute subsidiary, weekly newsletter La Lettre de l'Expansion reported.

MICHELIN
The company is to double production of heavy truck tyres at a factory in northern China to keep up with demand, Le Figaro newspaper reports.
Les Echos says the tyre maker is also to increase synthetic rubber production capacity at a factory in France to 200,000 tonnes from 160,000 tonnes at a cost of "several tens of millions" of euros.
