NEW YORK, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Nike Inc , the world's largest athletic shoe and apparel maker, said on Thursday it named Eric Sprunk to the newly created position of vice president of product.

Sprunk, 44, will be responsible for all Nike brand product across the company's footwear, equipment and apparel departments, from design and development to manufacturing.
Nike also said it named Jan Singer vice president of footwear, responsible for creating and executing Nike's global footwear creation strategy. (Reporting by Sarah Coffey; editing by John Wallace)
